RÉMY J. DELPLANCHE, O.D.
Welcome! I am a native of Oregon and my office has been serving the Beaverton/ Hillsboro area since 1993. I was raised on a strawberry farm here in the Pacific Northwest and am a graduate of both Jesuit High School & University of Portland. I then attended Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove where I was awarded “Outstanding Graduate of the Year”. At Pacific I met my wife Sally who, after many years as an ESL specialist for our local public schools, is now currently the Spanish teacher at Valley Catholic Elementary School. Together we have 4 children. I enjoy the outdoors and especially my involvement with Scouts BSA. For over 25 years now I have been an active Scout leader and have worked with countless youth along their Trail to Eagle. My 2 sons have both become Eagle Scouts and I have joined them in numerous campouts, hikes, and service projects.
Not only am I a fully licensed Optometric Physician, but I am also a Developmental Optometrist. I truly believe that “The Eyes Are The Window To the Soul”. Not only do they allow us to see the world around us but through them we can tell how a person feels and even thinks. I believe that vision has a deep connection to our ability to read and learn and it is my mission to give all my young patients the skills necessary to succeed.
In 2016 I was awarded the “Doctor of the Year Award” by the Oregon Lions Sight & Hearing Foundation. This award was from a combined effort with the Lions Foundation, Beaverton School District, and the KEX Needy Kids Fund for development of a better school vision screening program by using the Spot School Screening System. Through this system we are able to capture many more at-risk students with otherwise undiagnosed vision problems. We have been a primary referral source for the Beaverton School District for their most difficult vision cases.
My practice is quite diverse in both patient demographics as well as in range of vision services I provide. Specialties include medical management of eye disorders such as Diabetes and Glaucoma, difficult to fit Contact Lenses, treatment of Dry Eye Syndrome, diagnosis & treatment of Concussion following trauma, and Vision Therapy for students with reduced visual function. We relocated to our new Hall Street address in 2022 to better serve our growing practice and offer much improved parking!
